Machu Picchu: Over 36,000 tickets sold in 14 hours – when should you reserve your ticket to visit?
The Ministry of Culture has launched a virtual platform to allow citizens to purchase tickets to the Wonder of the World.
In just 14 hours, more than 36,000 tickets to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu were sold, according to the Ministry of Culture. The tickets are for visits scheduled between January 6 and 31 this year.
Citizens can purchase their tickets at tuboleto.cultura.pe. Since the opening of the presale on Friday, January 3, more than 4.3 million Soles have been sold.
The online platform is functioning normally, as the Ministry of Culture continuously monitors the system to ensure efficient service.
Although some problems have been reported, they have been resolved “in the shortest possible time”. Reservations for visits from January 7 to 31 will be valid until 23:58 on Monday, January 6, and reservations for January 6 will be valid until 23:58 on Sunday, January 5.

Schedule for Machu Picchu Ticket Sales According to the schedule, tickets for Machu Picchu in 2025 can be purchased as follows
- January 13: Reservations can be made for February
- January 14: Tickets can be reserved for March
- January 15: Tickets can be reserved for April
- January 16: Tickets can be reserved for May
- January 17: Tickets are available for purchase for June
- January 20: Tickets are available for purchase for July
- January 21: Tickets can be reserved for August, September, October, November and December
According to RM N.º 000404-2024-MC, the maximum capacity for Machu Picchu in 2025 is 5,600 visitors per day on the following dates January 1, April 17-20, June 19-November 2, and December 30-31. During the regular season, the maximum capacity is 4,500 visitors.
