Your Machu Picchu Overnight Tour begins with a convenient transfer from your hotel to the railway station. Choose between departure points at Poroy (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo (1 hour and 40 minutes from Cusco). Embark on a train journey that spans approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, offering breathtaking views of ever-changing landscapes, from lush fields to vibrant villages nestled at the foothills of the Andes. While the first day is dedicated to settling into your accommodation, you’ll have the freedom to explore Aguas Calientes. On the second day of your 2-day Machu Picchu tour, an early start awaits you. After a quick transfer to the bus station, you’ll board a shuttle bus that will ascend to the archaeological marvel of Machu Picchu, navigating a zigzagging path for approximately 25 minutes.

Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, your knowledgeable Tour Guide will lead you through the key attractions of this ancient Incan site. Explore the main square, the Sun Temple, Intiwatana (Sun Clock), the Royal Rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the Royal Incas Cemetery during the insightful guided tour, which spans about 2 and a half hours. Following this, seize the opportunity to ascend either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Don’t forget your camera to capture the magic of “One of the New 7 Wonders of the World.”

Once you’ve immersed yourself in the splendor of Machu Picchu, descend via shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included in the package) at one of the delightful restaurants offering both traditional Andean and international cuisine. Afterward, consider a visit to the thermal baths of Aguas Calientes or explore the Museum of the Site (entrance fees not included in the package).

In the afternoon, embark on a train journey back to Ollantaytambo (alternatively to Poroy), where our driver awaits you in front of the railway station. All Machu Picchu trains depart from either Poroy Train Station or Ollantaytambo Train Station. When you book your Machu Picchu trip, our sales department will confirm which train station applies to your itinerary. Additionally, upon your arrival in Cusco, our representative will provide you with all the necessary details.

Wanchaq Train Station (Bimodal Service)

The Wanchaq Train Station is located near Cusco Airport, approximately 30 minutes by car. If you have a bimodal ticket, our driver will drop you off at Wanchaq Station, where you will board a tourist bus operated by the train company. This bus will take you to Ollantaytambo Train Station, a journey of approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, the train company staff will assist you and guide you to your assigned train carriage.

Ollantaytambo Train Station

If you have booked the Panoramic, Vistadome, or other similar train services, departures usually take place from Ollantaytambo Train Station. Our driver will transfer you to Ollantaytambo, with a travel time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, our driver will assist you at the station and help you board the train to Machu Picchu.
