In the morning, our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes away. There, you will board a train to Machu Picchu, a journey of about 1 hour and 45 minutes. During the trip, enjoy breathtaking natural landscapes, impressive Andean mountains, lush fields, and vibrant villages nestled in the foothills of the Andes. You will also admire spectacular views of the Urubamba River as it flows through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the town located just below Machu Picchu, our representative will greet you at the train station and guide you to the bus stop. You will then board a shuttle bus that ascends to the Machu Picchu archaeological complex along a scenic zigzag road. This ascent takes approximately 25 minutes.
Once at the site, your expert tour guide will lead a guided tour of the Inca citadel, visiting its most important highlights, including the Main Square, Temple of the Sun, Royal Rooms, Temple of the Three Windows, and the Royal Inca Cemetery. The guided visit lasts approximately 2.5 hours.
After exploring Machu Picchu, you will take the shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch at one of the town’s charming restaurants offering traditional Andean and international cuisine (lunch not included). Afterward, you will have free time, depending on your schedule, and may choose to visit the Aguas Calientes hot springs.
In the afternoon, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo, where our driver will be waiting at the station to transfer you back to Cusco.
